Aaron began his teaching career in 1984 after graduating from Friends University in Wichita, KS. Aaron intended to teach a couple of years at the elementary level then move to middle school and then high school and then land a career at the college level. Well, part of that became a reality. Aaron taught 2 years at the elementary level and 2 years at the middle school level and then stayed another 7 years, teaching middle school for 11 years! Some of us love middle school kids and Aaron is one of them.

It was in 1995 when Aaron decided to pursue songwriting and touring more intentional. Now more than 30 years later he still loves working in the classroom, drawing on music and storytelling to teach students.
Aaron's work includes work with the itty-bitty one, birth through 6-year-olds as a Master Teaching Artist with Wolf Trap Early Learning Through the Arts in Vienna, Virginia. As a Master Teaching Artist, he loves training teachers to use music and storytelling to help get these very young ones find the music and rhythm inside themselves.

Aaron is also a Certified National Teaching Artist with Young Audiences in New York. He was a founding Artist with Arts Partners Wichita where he served for nearly 30 years as a roster artist. As a traveling artist, Aaron loves the work of integrating the arts into science, math and language arts is a wonderful way to inspire kids to use the creative space in their heads to think about the world they live in.

Aaron is also the founder and Lead Artist with Sing It Out, an arts integrated non-profit that uses the arts to stir the creative passions in young people in rural and disadvantaged communities.

Unearthing a Story:
A Musical Dino Adventure
Grab your shovel and your imagination—it’s time to dig into a dino-sized adventure! Join National Teaching Artist Aaron Fowler (and his classroom therapy dog, Kuumba) for a musical journey where stories come alive through singing, storytelling, and movement.
Together, we’ll stomp like a Stegosaurus, roar like a T. rex, and soar like a Pteranodon as we uncover stories buried deep in the ground—just waiting to be discovered! Kids will explore how songs and stories connect us all, while having a roaring good time filled with laughter, learning, and creativity.
Through lively songs, imaginative tales, and movement-filled activities, children will explore how stories—like fossils—can be discovered, shared, and brought to life. Together we’ll sing, dance, and roar like the dinosaurs, uncovering the power of creativity, curiosity, and connection along the way.
Perfect for preschool and elementary explorers who love to move, make music, and imagine!

What folks are saying about Aaron's shows..
"Aaron Fowler helped to kick off the Olathe Public Library's 2020 summer reading program with a virtual concert via Zoom. All the fun and energy of an in-person performance was streamed live into the homes of our customers. If you can't have Aaron in person right now, online is the next best thing! Highly recommended."
